Overview

Matter fabrics are RainMaker groups enabled for Matter: they hold fabric CA material, commissioned nodes, and user NoCs. Fabric APIs live on ESPRMUser (create, list, resolve) and ESPRMFabric (details, nodes, commissioning).

userInstance refers to the logged-in ESPRMUser from authentication.

What this module does

Fabrics are the “home” boundary for Matter in this SDK. You use fabric APIs to:

  • Convert an existing RainMaker group into a Matter fabric
  • Load fabric details (CA material) before commissioning or certificate issuance

Groups vs fabrics

getGroups() returns a single paginated groups array. Matter-enabled entries are ESPRMFabric instances (isMatter === true); regular RainMaker groups are ESPRMGroup.

  • Filter with fabricOnly: true to list only fabrics
  • Filter client-side with group.isMatter when showing both types

Regular groups can become fabrics via convertToFabric.

Documentation sections

Create and manage fabrics

  • List groups with getGroups()
  • Convert an existing group to a Matter fabric
  • Load fabric details for commissioning with getFabricDetails()
  • Create a new fabric or resolve one by ID with getFabricById()
  • Inspect fabric nodes and common workflows

Lifecycle mental model

A fabric should have fabric details (CA material) loaded via getFabricDetails() before commissioning or CSR-heavy operations succeed reliably.
